Food Distributors need Recall and Spoilage Coverage
Peanut butter and peanut butter grocery items have been FDA recalled in many states.
February 2, 2009
This family of foods has been attributed as the cause of a salmonella poisoning outbreak. Food Distributors without Recall and Spoilage coverage in their General Liability policies may suffer a significant expense in this government recall.
Distributors of grocery items, fresh meats, sea food, poultry, dairy, fruits and vegetables and frozen package foods, etc. need Recall and Spoilage to adequately protect the distributor. Today's global stream of commerce, difficult domestic markets, and governmental interventions present the distributor with exposures to risk like never before. The exposure and occurrence of a mandated recall is very real. Recall and Spoilage coverage is part of the excellent risk management that food distributors need. Contact Colburn & Son, Inc.
